This is the story of my grandpa's early years that I found in an old exercise book. It's an affectionate account of his boyhood growing up in St Bees in the 1910s and 1920s, left in a faded, battered old exercise book.
It's taken me a while to type up - as you can see from the picture the handwriting is quite difficult to read. I've given it a very "light edit", fixing the odd spelling mistake moving the odd paragraph up or down, but otherwise allowing his voice to speak.
